This week's music is by Boyd Blomberg on guitar and vocals.Boyd makes his home in the remote woods of Grand Marais on the north shore of Lake Superior. The rugged beauty of the landscape, the self-sufficient and sometimes lonely lifestyle infuse his songwriting.
After many years touring nationally with Twin Cities band "The Gooneybirds" he moved north to become a father and run a small business. Years in the construction trades did nothing to silence the music in him. A second place finish at the Big Top Chautauqua songwriting contest gave him the resolve and encouragement to return to his first love.
His voice has re-emerged with a new depth - songs crafted with hand-hewn simplicity, the wisdom of life experience, and a deep understanding of the human condition.
