North Shore Winery Announces New Business Partners
June 26, 2017 – Lutsen, Minn. – North Shore Winery owners, Chuck and Kim Corliss, are pleased to announce a new business partnership with Jeremy and Mary Hanson, longtime homeowners in Lutsen and big fans of Cook County. Jeremy and Mary have been spending significant time on the North Shore since the 1970s, first on the Gunflint Trail and since 2004 in Lutsen.
Since opening one year ago, the North Shore Winery has grown substantially. With the addition of Jeremy and Mary, the Winery will continue to provide great customer service and the good times its customers have come to enjoy.
“We realized after the busy days last summer and fall, we needed additional leadership engaged in the day-to-day operations of the winery and cider house,” states Chuck Corliss, North Shore Winery owner and winemaker. “Mary and Jeremy love the North Shore, the great outdoors, and good wine. Kim and I are pleased they have decided to join us in this endeavor, bringing valuable skills to the business.”
Mary and Jeremy have spent most of their lives enjoying Northern Minnesota, starting with BWCA canoe trips in the 1970s and family vacations along the North Shore and the Gunflint Trail. High school sweethearts (Minneapolis Central!), they have been married for 29 years and have three grown children; Graham, Ana and Maddy. While anchored in Richfield, Minnesota for many years, the Hansons bought a home in Lutsen in 2004, and have spent more and more time in Cook County ever since. They like being outdoors – in the woods or on the lake; mountain biking, skiing, fishing, hiking, boating, spending time with friends and family….and yes, drinking wine out on the deck!
The winery and tasting room, located on Ski Hill Road in Lutsen, Minn., is open daily 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. to experience a taste of Lutsen, closed on Tuesdays. The tasting room offers a flight of tastings for a fee along with carafe, glass, and bottle purchases of wine and hard cider. The tasting room also offers a selection of Minnesota crafted cheeses and cured meats to enjoy while visiting the winery.

North Shore Winery, established in 2013, was founded by Chuck and Kim Corliss of Lutsen, Minn. In 2017, Jeremy and Mary Hanson of Richfield, Minn. became partners in the business. The winery offers both red and white wines for tasting and purchase. Under the brand, Sawtooth Mountain Cider House, hard ciders are offered, created with a local flair. The winery, located on Ski Hill Road in Lutsen, Minn., has normal business hours from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. to experience a taste of Lutsen and is closed on Tuesdays.
